Hello, I’m Cathy Thornton,

I work with the youngest students in our school.

They love to learn new things and crave reassurance daily.  The youngest students are totally into singing, dancing, painting, and playing.   We hate rainy days and are entirely ready to learn new concepts and ideas.  At first the students struggle to find out their daily routine yet, by the end of the year we have mastered their daily routines.

I help them have more excitement, while sprinkling in a little learning.  I give them the tools to turn their frustrations into successes everyday.  I show them how to bring more singing and dancing into their lives.

I’ve earned my Bachelor of Science degree from University-Wisconsin Platteville in Elementary Education in 2000.  I have earned an additional degree in Early Childhood Special Education from University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point in 2007.  I have learned that life is lived in the moment and I am reminded that daily when working with such young children.

When I am not at school

I love to go garage sales, flea markets, and barn sales.  I also take pleasure in spending time with my family.  I am married to my helpful husband Trampus Thornton.  We have two very full of life girls Chloe and Carlee.  We also like to cheer for my nieces and nephews in many Wauzeka-Steuben sporting events.

I bet you didn’t know that I met my husband on a blind date.  I have four siblings that all live in Wauzeka.  I grew up in Wauzeka and attended and graduated from Wauzeka Schools.
