My name is Phil Stiemke and I teach Vocal Music. I am married, with three children and two dogs. I grew up in South Milwaukee, WI. Both of my parents were music teachers and my son is also a music teacher. This school year marks my 30th year of teaching music, so you might say it's in my blood. My past teaching jobs have been in: Muskego, WI (permanent sub for one year) Sparta, WI (6 yrs.) Muenster, IN (1yr.) McFarland> WI (2 yrs.) and Prairie du Chien, WI (19 yrs.). I am also a huge Packer fan ..
I think, next to being a parent, teaching is one of the most important jobs out there. Teachers do have a direct impact on many lives and it can be a very satisfying line of work. I recently retired from my position in the Prairie du Chien School District, but I didn't necessarily want to retire from teaching. The hallf-time position at Wauzeka-Steuben was a good fit and the educational phi1osophy of the administration was very solid.
Most of my hobbies are music related. l enjoy composing and arranging music for my students. I also play bass guitar and have been involved in quite a few bands and music related projects over the years.
