Greetings:
I am writing to remind Wauzeka-Steuben School District residents that there is an operating referendum on the November 8, 2022 election ballot. Operating expenses are used for goods, services, and staffing used for normal operations. The district referendum from two years ago expires at the end of this school year. Consequently, the attached document shows the necessity of this referendum to keep the district operating at least three years into the future at which time the financial status will be re-evaluated.
Concurrently, there are four capital/maintenance projects that are being planned: Only one will be financed by the referendum -- a replacement boiler and controls (boiler is 30+ years old). 2022-2023
The other projects include:
- New windows - funded out of ESSER (pandemic funds). 2023
- Roof repair/replacement - funded out ofFund 46 established 4 years ago 2024
- Siding that will weather protect the deteriorating building exterior - Also funded out of Fund 46. 2024
I encourage you to attend one of the information sessions that is included on the attachment.
Sincerely,
Gary L Albrecht
Interim District Administrator
